 Ruby will review the common misconceptions about what makes Turkish style unique, then share a choreography where fast footwork and finesse come together in her version of modern Turkish Oriental style.

Get down with drama in this dynamic entrance choreography.  This whirlwind routine is packed with drum solo bits, bursts of veil and a hint of floorwork! *please bring a 3 yard veil and knee pads

Combinations are one of the most effective ways to build confidence and control in transitions and sequencing movement.  This workshop offers several combinations focused on different aspects of the dance.  Please bring a veil and zills just in case, the combos in this class are always evolving!

 

NEW **DEADLY DRUM SOLO CHOREOGRAPHY
This workshop is full of clever isolations, creative transitions and clear technique for drum solo and musical accents.

 

NEW**TACKLING TRANSITIONS…
Transitions can be one of the trickiest aspects of polishing your performance.  This workshop will help remove blocks and provide inspiration for you to creatively develop your own signature transitions! Come prepared to participate.


PERFECT  PRACTICE
In this workshop Ruby shares her secrets on how to practice and stay motivated.  Lots of exploratory exercises and clever tricks are presented to keep your practice hours fun and productive!


           VIVACIOUS  VEIL

In this improvisational class Ruby will help you pinpoint sticky spots in your footwork and technique.  This fun class will get you moving!  Come prepared to share a technique or concept you are working on in your personal practice.

 

ALL ABOUT ARMS

This workshop will reveal how to polish your performance with strong and innovative arm pathways and concepts. We will cover a full range of arm stylizations, combos and creative exercises to get your body and arms in sync with style.


SWIFTI CHIFTI
Get your Turkish style on with some fun, upbeat Chiftetelli combos and rhythm breakdown. We'll be breaking down the Chiftetelli rhythm then exploring how to dance to it upbeat style. Bring a half circle Chiffon veil.

 

ZILL DRILLS!!!

Get frustrated when dancing and zilling at the same time?  Only have 4 patterns under your belt?  In this fun and challenging workshop you will learn multiple zill patterns and step combinations.  We will begin with finger cymbal pattern mastery and transition into layering isolation and step combinations with your zills.

 

EXPLORATIONS IN IMPROVISATION

Improvisation is at the heart of bellydance.  This exploratory class will give you the tools to perform flawless improvisation on stage or in restaurant/clubs.  Through staging technique, creative exercises and movement recall practices you'll be improvising in no time.

 

STANDING TAXIME

Standing taxime is one of the most challenging sections of the bellydance performance with an emphasis on deliberate and expressive improvisation to a single instrument. In this innovative class we begin with an intricate review of slow muscular isolations and steps then move into exercises in improvisation and self-awareness finishing off with ideas for interpreting individual instruments found in improvisational taxime.
